Three Teams. Three Grand Finals. One Outstanding Display of Character.
Teamwork. Determination. Resilience.
These qualities were on display throughout last week’s Winter Grand Finals, as Trinity proudly fielded teams in football, soccer and badminton. While each team experienced a different result, all three represented the school with courage, commitment and outstanding sportsmanship.
Soccor
The First XI Soccer team delivered a memorable Grand Final performance, producing a remarkable comeback to defeat PEGS 4–2 after extra time and claim the 2026 AGSV Premiership.
Showing composure under pressure and unwavering belief in one another, the team demonstrated the resilience and teamwork that have defined their season. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a well-deserved premiership.
Football
Our First XVIII Football team took on Marcellin in a fiercely contested Grand Final. The team fought courageously from the opening bounce, refusing to give in despite the challenge, before finishing runners-up, 43–58.
Although the premiership proved just out of reach, the players’ resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the match reflected the character they have built across an outstanding season.
Badminton
Trinity’s Firsts Badminton team faced a strong Camberwell side, finishing runners-up 1–5 in a competitive Grand Final.
Despite the final score, the team never stopped competing, displaying determination in every match and producing one of the day’s most memorable comeback victories after saving multiple match points to turn the contest around. It was a fitting example of the resilience shown by the team throughout the season.
To have three Trinity teams competing on the biggest stage of AGSV sport is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the dedication of our students, coaches and support staff.
While one team celebrated a premiership and two finished as runners-up, every player demonstrated the qualities that define Trinity sport: commitment to one another, resilience in the face of adversity and the determination to compete with integrity until the very end.
Congratulations to all three teams on outstanding seasons and for representing Trinity with such pride.
