  3. Senior Years Precinct

The Senior Years Precinct will be designed to enrich the academic experience and wellbeing needs of Years 9-12.

Within the South Precinct, The Village will be a new dedicated home for the Year 9 cohort, providing an environment suited to this age situated in what was commonly known as “frogs hollow”.   Designed to support a range of pedagogical approaches, the learning spaces will encourage students to explore diverse elective subjects and tailored wellbeing programs. A network of interconnected learning gardens will foster environmental sustainability, community engagement, and connection to Country.

While primarily based in The Village, Year 9 students will continue to access broader Senior School facilities, including specialist classrooms, recreational areas, and the Rick and Elizabeth Tudor Centre for Contemporary Learning.

For Years 10 to 12, the focus will shift to creating a VCE learning environment that supports both academic excellence and wellbeing. This includes a welcoming and inspiring arrival experience for all senior students, including those from Ruyton Girls’ School participating in the Coordinate Program.

Upgraded learning spaces and collaborative zones to complement the Rick and Elizabeth Tudor Centre, along with specialist faculty enhancements will equip all our senior students for a diverse range of future pathways. Charles Street will also be transformed to allow for safe pedestrian movement between the precincts.

A major staff park will also be constructed under the Birrell Oval, complete with end of trip facilities, wet weather sport practice facilities and a new home for our Property and Grounds team.  This development will reduce reliance on surrounding public and private parking, creating a safer environment for drop-off and pick-up times and easing congestion for nearby residents.
