As students begin to consider and prepare for life beyond school, they are supported by the dedicated Trinity Careers Office who offer career development, exploration and planning opportunities.

Students are encouraged to focus on their strengths, values and interests as they consider and navigate the world of work and their place in it.

Underpinned by the Victorian Careers Curriculum Framework, we aim to assist our young people to:

  • Apply their learning to achieve educational and career aspirations
  • Build resilience in their capacity to manage change throughout their lives
  • Develop skills, knowledge and capabilities to make career decisions
  • Understand and manage influences relating to career planning and lifelong learning

At the right age and stage, Trinity students are invited to consider various career paths through a swathe of experiences, including:

  • Career educations seminars
  • Fortnightly Careers newsletters
  • Career-related excursions
  • Fortnightly careers lessons (Learning for Life)

Navigating the post-school landscape

Individual support is offered for subject selection and the consideration of post-school options, including tertiary study in Australia and overseas.

The Trinity Careers Office provides comprehensive resources and information about tertiary study options, as well as apprenticeships, cadetships and traineeships, for both the domestic and international markets.

Work Experience

Work Experience is a short-term placement program in Year 10 which provides insights into the world of work. Students independently source a placement with an employer in their industry of choice to observe, learn and consider future career paths.

Students undertake Work Experience to:

  • Develop job-search skills
  • Explore possible career options
  • Foster career goals to inform subject selection
  • Learn skills and competencies required in the workplace
  • Match potential career paths with personal skills, abilities and interests

The alumni network

Trinity Grammar School has an extensive network of alumni (Old Trinity Grammarians) with careers that span a myriad of interesting industries.

Old Trinity Grammarians often frequent careers events at Trinity, providing students with insights into studying, university, job searching, early career advice and long-term career planning.
