The Trinity Grammar School Junior School educates approximately 430 boys from Prep – Year 6 in a single-sex learning environment.
Teaching the Australian Curriculum using the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) approach, the Junior School classroom celebrates student agency and voice.
Our whole-school approach at Trinity provides the opportunities and challenges, as well as the structure and support, to give young people a balanced education. Extension opportunities available for those who want to delve a bit deeper, and enhanced learning is provided for those who need it.
Junior School students have access to Trinity’s high-quality drama, music and sport facilities, supported by specialist staff who cater programs to every age and stage.
Outdoor programs, including excursions and camps, build confidence and resilience, and establish an appreciation for the land on which we learn every day. All Junior School students are taught technical and survival skills in Trinity’s onsite pool by specialist swimming coaches during Terms 1 and 4.
The development of leadership skills begins at a young age, and is fostered through programs such as the Ruyton/Trinity buddy program, the Great Mates peer mentoring program and the opportunity to take on more formal leadership roles in Year 6.
The environment
The Trinity Junior School precinct is located on the west side of Charles Street, adjacent to the whole-school gym and pool facilities.
