Edition 1, Term 2 – 2024

From the Principal

Video Transcript

So, welcome to Term 2. It’s great to be back.

We haven’t been sitting on our hands over the break. You might note that the is a bit of a building site. That’s because E Block, which was there, is no longer there. It’s come down in preparation for our next lot of works.

We are in fact going to be bringing to you our Masterplan launch in the next couple of weeks. So look out for that. That’s part of the preparation for that broader master planning.

It is lunchtime behind me. You can see staff and students in the Senior School playing their touch rugby game. It’s a nice competitive start and the staff have just scored.

So, welcome back to the term. It’s a longer one. There’s plenty happening.

Please make sure you ask us when you have a question and we’ll make sure that we feed the information up to you.

All the best.

– Adrian Farrer, Principal

Reconnecting in the ELC

It has been wonderful to observe our students reconnecting after returning from the term break.

The students have arrived back with confidence and connection, reaffirming the great work that happened in Term 1 building relationships and connections to cement a strong sense of belonging. Our learners have had many stories to share about their holiday adventures.

Our focus as educators for the first few days of term has been supporting the children to reconnect. This includes the educational program, and current interests and inquires. It also involves reconnecting with peers and staff as well as refamiliarising themselves with the classroom and outdoor routines and expectations as they adjust back into our group learning environment.

We are looking forward to a wonderful term of enriched learning and inquiry. Within our program we use a range of natural materials for a range of purposes within the indoor and outdoor programs. We are always on the hunt for additional natural materials such as leaves, (Autumn), sticks, branches, pinecones, seed pods, shells, rocks, etc. if you happen to collect any of these items on your visits to local parks, gardens, farms, or the beach we would welcome them as contributions to add to our collection.

Welcome back to Term 2.

– Naomi Wright, Director of ELC

Junior School

A big welcome back to all students and their families.

School Routine

The start of the term comes with it the demands of settling back into the routine of being punctual for school every day. We ask that all students are at school and ready to learn by 8:30am. As we provide yard duty from 8:00am, students are permitted on to campus without adult supervision at this time. The Prep –Year 2 classrooms are open from 8:15am and we encourage students to use this time to transition into their classroom and ready themselves for the day ahead. The Junior School Library is also open from 8.00am every morning and our Library staff are available to assist students. Students and their guardians are welcome to visit and enjoy the Library space before school. The students can also borrow and spend time with their peers. Every Thursday morning, Chess Club is from 7.50am – 8.50am in the Library, and all students are welcome to enrol in this program through Kids Unlimited.

Should you require your child to be at school prior to 8:00am (except if they are enrolled in Chess), please ensure they are enrolled in our Before School Care program offered by Team Kids.

We wish all of our families a wonderful term ahead.
